Maddie is the child of Jeff Brink and the late Lorraine Courtright-Brink. Growing up on a small farm in Greene, N.Y. she developed a love for animals early.
She competed in junior showmanship classes in local county fairs, following in the path of her parents who were active equestrians. Along with animals, she also was involved in sports from a young age, playing field hockey, baskebtball and softball in her highschool years.
Maddie attended Clarkson Univerity from 2018-2022 graduating with a duel degree in Biomolecular Science and Chemsitry while also playing softball. She now works in pharmaceuticals at a local company, in their raw materials laboratory.
In her free time, Maddie enjoys reading, horror and classics being her favorite genres. She also enjoys weight-lifting, and crafts such as sewing, knitting, and crocheting.
Nick is the child of Inna and Konstantin Kholod. He grew up in the Bronx, an attended a software engenieering specialty school in Manhattan. He later moved to Windsor, N.Y. to finish his high school education.
He attended Broome Community College in 2017, obtaining a degree in Computer Networking. Growing up Nick took an interest in car mechanics and building computers.
Today, his hobbies include rebuilding cars and riding motorcycles. He also plans on obtaining his pilot's license one day. Currently he works for Kansas City National Security Campus.
Our Story
Nick and Maddie met on a dating app in May of 2022. After striking off a friendship, they starting dating in July of that year. They adopted a german shepard, named Lasso in 2024, adding to their gaggle of animals which include chickens and a bearded dragon.
Nick and Maddie enjoy traveling together, their favorite places including Boulder, CO, Montreal, CA, and NYC. They also enjoy hiking, going to antique stores, and completing home DIY projects that Maddie finds on pintrest. They run Shepard Shenanigans Farms together, named after Lasso of course.
In June of 2025, Nick proposed at Martha's Vineyard, where Maddie happily said yes.
